There are three entries in Stevenson’s autobiography. A short letter, a longer letter to George Iles (editor of the autobiographical volumes in The Pocket University) in which he sketches his career through the autumn of 1887, and an essay, “Books Which Have Influenced Me,” (1887). This was from a series of articles from “prominent men” published by the British Weekly (London).
